HOW TO HELP PEOPLE NEAR YOU

Last week i went on a mission trip. So many people needed help from needing food to just talking to them it is crazy how most of the time people need help in other countries but we forget to look at our towns or next door neighbor.

we walked around town and stopped by this old ladies house and sat on her front porch and talked for a long time. We made her day just by talking to her. How happy she was for what she had to go through her husband died 18 years ago she was living bye herself and all her kids lived somewhere else she had no one yet she was so joyful about all she had done in her life.

We also helped with a VBS ( vacation Bible school) it is a summer camp where the kids come for a couple of hours and learn about the Bible and, play games. We didn't have that many kids show up during the week but, we did get to know the kids so well that at the end of the week it was very hard to leave.

During the day because VBS was at night. We helped at a homeless shelter called Christ hands lift boxes make food boxes and sometimes we would pray with the homeless people the people were so great full about what little they had. Which made me a lot more grateful because i had a bed to sleep on and i don't have to worry about if i am going to have a meal.

We stayed at the homeless shelter place but, there was no homeless people staying in the building, but outside there was a few of them sleeping on a picnic bench. One night we were coming home from VBS because it was at night and i saw 3 homeless dudes sitting out there. i cant image what it would be like sleeping like that with no pillow or blankets. we get all the left over meals from VBS so i decided that we should give them a meal because i was stuffed with food and all they do is find any food they can.

Sometimes if you look around you will find people who need help maybe its not the biggest thing but, it still impacted there day or there life. It could be just helping someone with there groceries it doesn't have to be big. so go help someone this week. - LOVE EMMA
